Scripture Together
We enjoy talking through Scripture together and would love for you to join the conversation. You are welcome to just listen in, to respond in a note or to find a time we might meet and talk about God’s love and grace together.
Philippians
Barbara and Josiah look at Philippians 4:6 and Jesus leading the disciples to feed 5,000. Thinking about how the disciples struggled helped us see our own worry in a different light. Jesus ministry involving them in the miracle is amazing.
Paul’s words, ‘don’t worry about anything’ can sound unrealistic, or even like a heartless demand. So, we look at the Spirit’s work to encourage us to believe God’s love, pray and even thank God.
The promise of ‘peace surpassing understanding’ sounds impossible! But Paul promises that we can know God’s own peace even in the most difficult circumstances. How is that possible? Josiah and Barbara look at the promise together.
How can we have ‘God’s peace?’ Jesus gave us that gift, so how can we enjoy it? What role do we play in leaving anxiety behind and taking hold of peace? Josiah and Barbara talk about creation and ‘reading the Bible backwards.”
Sonship Course Lesson
Even as a believer I found that pushing gospel grace down into my heart was more than an intellectual exercise. Though I had been through every imaginable discipleship program, I needed someone to talk straight about my life and to help me see my present need for the gospel grace of Christ today. Sonship is designed to help you take glorious theological truths of the gospel - truths that you may know in your head - and apply them to your heart and the nitty gritty reality of daily life. Live the theology you believe!
Delivered as part of the Mentored Sonship Program at Serge
Teaching on Church Leadership
In the last years I have seen pastors I admired lose their congregations because they could not translate grace into practical leadership. Christ teaches us to lead very differently than any of the modern models of leadership. These talks take a look at who we are called to be - gracious Servant Leaders.

Teaching on Healthy Church Growth
In these two talks I look at 1 Thessalonians as Paul approaches church growth from love and faith. He unveils a portrait of personal and community progress that is genuine and organic; naturally rooted in Gospel principles that are in many ways counter-cultural and counter-intuitive, but enormously attractive and welcoming.

Teaching on Ecclesiastes
The writer of Ecclesiastes takes a clear eyed look at our work, relationships, good times, and even at religion - and then comes away with a renewed trust in the person and work of the Creator that doesn't deny the difficult realities of everyday life.
